I am often asked what happens to the soul of a child once they cross over. When the soul of a small child leaves the presence of the parent, it presents a more painful and in many cases, an unbearable emotion. One of the primary experiences that the child brings through during a reading which helps, or hopefully helps, is to grasp the idea that their child’s soul is in a state of change, transition and expansion. Often a child’s soul needs to visit and stay close to the physical plane for their benefit and the benefit of their loved ones. The child does not consciously plan their death and that is why the death process shocks the child initially. However, once the transition begins, then the “understanding” begins and on the psychic plane the child’s soul senses and feels his/her parent’s emotions as well as their own. The soul of the child knows that you, as parents, perceive them as children and that is the way they will enter psychically for the parent’s benefit. They will present themselves, in most cases, as they last remember their physical body.

As Thanksgiving nears each of us is drawn to the concept of “giving thanks” of understanding that we each receive and that we each are called to give

As Thanksgiving nears each of us is drawn to the concept of “giving thanks” and of understanding that we each receive and that we each are called to give. Gathering of family is an opportunity to share the experience of gratitude and to understand that giving and receiving are two sides of a coin. When a gift is given the giver gives it freely and without restrictions. However, if a gift is given conditionally it is no longer a gift, but rather a form of manipulation or control. “I will do this for you if you act or respond as I want you to.” Receiving a gift also requires suspension of judgment, an open heart and acceptance.

In some ways celebrating Thanksgiving can be fleeting in our lives, can be only superficial. This can happen if gratitude is reserved just for this holiday or is applied only to gratitude for material things. There is a deeper type of gratitude or appreciation that we can achieve in our daily lives.

To quote Eckhart Tolle, whose work I admire, “The greatest form of suffering and frustration and non-fulfillment is the clash between the mental story of what “should” be and what is. That’s really the root of the madness. There cannot be gratitude when that operates in your life.” Acceptance of what is ~ this is an important foundation for true gratitude in your life. When one is truly grateful for being alive and has appreciation for all the gifts of life, that gratitude extends even to things that are challenging. I recently thought about how this applied to my life and my gift after seeing the move Hereafter.

The character portrayed by Matt Damon, presented the “gift” of mediumship as a curse ~ an unwanted gift. This caught me by surprise! When anyone is given the gift and responsibility of being a healer, of course there is a burden of effort, emotion, and concern. However, when one experiences sharing the peace and healing of the gift, then the burden of good or bad dissolves. The Medium acts as a clear channel with the self completely removed, and what remains is only the healing. I truly believe that the movie Hereafter was a limited version of what truly happens. I enjoy Matt Damon’s work; however, gratitude and humility were missing from the portrayal.

I hope that each of us can bring both acceptance and thanksgiving into daily practice.

During readings I am sometimes in touch with the energy of spirit from an animal who has passed.

Animal souls are quite clear and the energy is more fundamental and clean to the heart than that of humans. People would be amazed how uncluttered they are.

When animal souls pass they accept that which is, they accept life in motion, what we call death, with no clinging. There is no wanting or grief, just release to a new form. It is truly beautiful.

They are great teachers to humans.

“Lots of people talk to animals…. Not very many listen, though…. That’s the problem.” ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

I recently received a question regarding how I, as a medium, receive information from the "other side".

I recently received a question regarding how I, as a medium, receive information from the “other side”.

We all receive some information daily – sometimes obvious and other times quite subtle. It can be experienced through humor or sarcasm, through anger or compassion. It can be seen in advertising, through clothes being worn, a subtle perfume, a bold shirt, a business suit, or metallic suit. We receive it in so many ways and often it is expressed uniquely, and often confusing…did she mean to say that?…was that a complaint or a cooperative comment…it is based on intent…subject matter…the variations in a relationship and so on. This often happens in psychic communication as well. The receiving of the information is really rather simple. What is crucial is whether we notice it or understand what is meant to be conveyed. What is extremely important is that psychics remove themselves on a personal level from the information, except for the references that create validations. The injection of personal emotion can create havoc with a reading.

As in any great art work or musical piece the interpretation of the instrument is where genius is born. The ability to delve further into symbolism . The high sensitivity to interpret intent by a departed soul can truly define a level of quality that can be compared. I am certain that there are psychics that have great talent on the receiving end by having spent little or no time developing their interpretations or reactions to the energy. Gifted mediums can clearly interpret information on a profound level of skill that is both sensitive and accurate.

People often ask me how being a psychic medium has changed my life. In response, I must say that my life has changed in many ways.

People often ask me how being a psychic medium has changed my life. In response, I must say that my life has changed in many ways.

The inner aspect of my life, my senses and awareness has been greatly heightened. Much like an explorer in nature, the very fine details of the leaves on the trees, the small canyons, the snowflakes, the young animals being born are much akin to my own inner discoveries. I am much more aware of my thoughts, actions, and responsibilities. My sense of respect for others has grown even more. I have learned to listen very carefully to people around me. My interpersonal relationships are more clarified. I certainly can identify my feelings and emotions better.

The outer part, my public life, has grown quite busy. The appointments, readings, radio programs, and traveling has greatly increased. It is very exciting and yet at the same time quite fatiguing. Expectations run very high when you are psychic. The public demands 100% accuracy, no mistakes. This is impossible to do! People either put you on a pedestal or try to kick you to the curb. The skeptics, the cynics can create havoc on your emotions if you are not centered. The psychic “nut-jobs” can pull on you with “I have just one more question…” which usually will turn into 20 more questions. It all adds up.

I need personal time to relax and rejuvenate. I pray a lot. I find comfort in prayer and quiet times. I love to exercise and sweat a lot. It allows me time to think as well as cleanses me.

My gift is guiding me, showing me the way, and I am learning to let go more and more each day. My gift has truly changed my life.
