When Loved Ones that have Passed Appear in Dreams

Monday, February 7th, 2011

I am very often asked about dreams and if they have any meaning. When people that have passed appear in your dreams, does it actually mean that those spirits are attempting to contact you or have visited you?

In some rare instances lucid clairvoyant dreams do occur where “communication” is authentic and is an attempt by the soul or spirit to relay some message to the dreamer. However, most dreams are simply dreams; they are the bi-product of the mind’s movement in thought.

The Existence of a “God”

Monday, January 31st, 2011

A very common question that people ask me is in regards to the existence of a God. I am often asked if I have ever had some sort of confirmation from spirits that God does exist.

The concept of God is deeply personal and often a product of religion, upbringing or faith systems. What has been shown to me by the “essence of the souls” is that there is the presence of the unmanifested and a supreme endless consciousness… this is where all spirit dwells. Forever present, timeless, infinite, and beyond the use of any word to describe!

Can Mediums “Read” Themselves?

Monday, January 24th, 2011

I am often asked whether or not I can “read” myself and if my loved ones contact me. Although I will not speak for all Mediums, here is the best explanation of my experiences.

Even though I do sense the presence of my own family members, I sometimes have to pause and really pay attention so that I do not confuse what I am sensing with my own memory or grief process. To be sure I will visit another high quality medium. Remember, even the best doctor goes to another doctor for surgery.

How Long Should You Wait for a Psychic Reading?

Friday, January 14th, 2011

I am often asked how long one should wait before participating in a psychic reading to get in touch with a loved one that has passed. My answer is that there is no specific waiting period required. However, when one passes over, there is what is commonly called a transition period, which can take anywhere from 30 days to 6 months. We generally ask our guests to wait at least 30 days after the passing to allow time for the transition period. This time period also allows the emotions of the living person to relax and be more open and sensitive to the reading. If one is too emotional following the passing of a loved one, their grief may hinder a spirit from coming through during a reading.

That said, there is no guarantee that the desired loved one will come through during a reading. In a private setting (versus a public venue), the readings are much more focused because you (and your loved ones) are not competing to “use the phone” as they say. Still, guaranteed is not a word that I can ever use at any time. Energy is just that…energy. It’s intangible to the human eyes or ears.

Psychic Readings and Your Future

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

I often have people requesting psychic readings that deal with future events, especially around the New Year. Many people wonder if a psychic medium that can communicate with the “other side” can also read into the future. The answer is yes, in most cases the psychic window that opens sometimes reveals information both in the short term and long term into the future. It does not happen for everyone but usually it does happen through family members crossed over and through my psychic guide, Grey Wolf. Some souls whom have crossed over are given the gift of prophecy and sight based on their souls own evolution. Everything that occurs in a lifetime, whether it be fortunate or unfortunate, increases the souls awareness of divine energy. I strongly consider in all readings where advice is given in regards to health, careers, relationships, etc. that the person should always consult with a professional such as a doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc.

Why Some People are “Read” and Others are Not

Monday, December 27th, 2010

I recently received this question regarding psychic readings:

Dear Robert,

Why is it that some people get read and others don’t? I was at one of your readings and found it very interesting. I had an open mind and wasn’t disappointed when not read. However, if someone is ok with why or how their loved ones passed and are done grieving does that mean they don’t need to come through? I plan on going again one day, but just wanted to know. Thank you!

Maria

Dear Maria,

A person who is seeking communication with a soul that has crossed over is not the only basis for the reason why some people are read and others are not. Just because we may need to hear from a soul, that does not mean they are ready to send a message or cross over the veil to do so. The soul that has crossed over may not be ready for their own reason or purpose to send a message. Another reason may be that the Medium is of poor quality and capacity and their psychic window is not capable to properly receive the messages. The soul senses this and may not use this psychic window to cross the veil. A soul may come through for their own sake to deliver a message they need to communicate or to communicate with someone other than a loved one that is OK or done grieving with their passing. A soul may come through for their own sake and not necessarily because a loved one needs them to.

The Loss of a Child

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

I am often asked what happens to the soul of a child once they cross over. When the soul of a small child leaves the presence of the parent, it presents a more painful and in many cases, an unbearable emotion. One of the primary experiences that the child brings through during a reading which helps, or hopefully helps, is to grasp the idea that their child’s soul is in a state of change, transition and expansion. Often a child’s soul needs to visit and stay close to the physical plane for their benefit and the benefit of their loved ones. The child does not consciously plan their death and that is why the death process shocks the child initially. However, once the transition begins, then the “understanding” begins and on the psychic plane the child’s soul senses and feels his/her parent’s emotions as well as their own. The soul of the child knows that you, as parents, perceive them as children and that is the way they will enter psychically for the parent’s benefit. They will present themselves, in most cases, as they last remember their physical body.

Gratitude

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

GratitudeAs Thanksgiving nears each of us is drawn to the concept of “giving thanks” and of understanding that we each receive and that we each are called to give. Gathering of family is an opportunity to share the experience of gratitude and to understand that giving and receiving are two sides of a coin. When a gift is given the giver gives it freely and without restrictions. However, if a gift is given conditionally it is no longer a gift, but rather a form of manipulation or control. “I will do this for you if you act or respond as I want you to.” Receiving a gift also requires suspension of judgment, an open heart and acceptance.

In some ways celebrating Thanksgiving can be fleeting in our lives, can be only superficial. This can happen if gratitude is reserved just for this holiday or is applied only to gratitude for material things. There is a deeper type of gratitude or appreciation that we can achieve in our daily lives.

To quote Eckhart Tolle, whose work I admire, “The greatest form of suffering and frustration and non-fulfillment is the clash between the mental story of what “should” be and what is. That’s really the root of the madness. There cannot be gratitude when that operates in your life.” Acceptance of what is ~ this is an important foundation for true gratitude in your life. When one is truly grateful for being alive and has appreciation for all the gifts of life, that gratitude extends even to things that are challenging. I recently thought about how this applied to my life and my gift after seeing the move Hereafter.

The character portrayed by Matt Damon, presented the “gift” of mediumship as a curse ~ an unwanted gift. This caught me by surprise! When anyone is given the gift and responsibility of being a healer, of course there is a burden of effort, emotion, and concern. However, when one experiences sharing the peace and healing of the gift, then the burden of good or bad dissolves. The Medium acts as a clear channel with the self completely removed, and what remains is only the healing. I truly believe that the movie Hereafter was a limited version of what truly happens. I enjoy Matt Damon’s work; however, gratitude and humility were missing from the portrayal.

I hope that each of us can bring both acceptance and thanksgiving into daily practice.
